Submission. Seabed mining South Taranaki. NZSFC. 19 Dec 2013
Submission opposing the Trans-Tasman Resources Ltd marine consent application to mine iron sand in the South Taranaki Bight. Submission urges the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) decline the application by TTR on the basis that there are unknown consequences of releasing sediments onto the continental shelf. Submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council. 19 December 2013.
Submission. Sea perch 1 TAC review. NZSFC. 9 Aug 2013
Submission in support of a smaller than proposed increase to the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) for Sea perch 1, on the basis that the recreational allowance needs to increase by 2 tonne. Submission also urges the Ministry investigate the ecological impacts of increased trawl effort on inshore benthic habitats. Submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council. 9 August 2013.
Submission. Scallop 1 TAC review. Recreational. 5 Feb 2020
Submission in support of the Minister reducing the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) by 60% and the Total Allowable Commercial Catch (TACC) by 75% on the basis that commercial dredging in inshore waters is reviewed, and that commercial hand gathering and other low impact methods of harvesting scallops is permitted in selected areas. Submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council-LegaSea and the New Zealand Angling & Casting Association. 5 February 2020.
Submission. Scallop 1 TAC review. Recreational. 24 Aug 2006
Submission rejecting both proposals to provide an additional 60 tonne of ACE for the 2006-07 fishing year. Submitters acknowledge the variable nature of the scallop fishery and the need for caution. Submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council and option4. 24 August 2006.
Submission. Paua ACE carry forward. NZSFC. 14 June 2011
Submission objecting to the removal of Paua from Schedule 5A of the Fisheries Act to enable up to 10% of uncaught ACE to be carried forward to the following year. Submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council. 14 June 2011.
Submission. Kingfish 8 TAC review. NZSFC. 29 July 2011
Submission recommending the Minister confirm the status quo for the Total Allowable Commercial Catch (TACC) in Kingfish 8. Submission also urges the Minister to ensure 100% observer coverage on chartered factory trawlers while in New Zealand waters as there is potential for significant under reporting of commercial kingfish catch in KIN 8 as part of the 30,000 tonne jack mackerel fishery. Submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council. 29 July 2011.
Submission. Animal welfare Act review. NZSFC. 28 Sept 2012
Submission agreeing that animal welfare matters and that it is important to rely on science based assessment rather than emotive or animal rights based assessment of animal welfare. Support the continuation of the provision that exempts killing fish from the full provisions of the Animal welfare Act. Submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council. 28 September 2012.
Submission. Carry forward of CRA ACE. Recreational. 24 Feb 2020
Submission opposing the proposal to enable rock lobster ACE to be carried forward to the next fishing year. There are sustainability concerns for most crayfish stocks and the TACC is already over 94% caught in CRA 1, 5, 7 & 9. Joint recreational submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council-LegaSea and the New Zealand Angling & Casting Association. 24 February 2020.
Submission. CRA 1, 3, 4, 7 & 8 TAC review. Recreational. 5 Feb 2020
Submission repeating the call for cancellation of the commercial concession applying in CRA 3, 7 & 8. The Minister must retain the existing recreational allowance in CRA 3 and the TACC in CRA 7. The Minister must delay management changes in CRA 4 until a new stock assessment is available. Joint recreational submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council-LegaSea and the New Zealand Angling & Casting Association. 5 February 2020.
Submission. CRA 2 telson clipping & bag limits. NZSFC. 13 Dec 2018
Submission supporting a recreational daily bag limit reduction from 6 to 3 at this time. Submission opposes the introduction of telson clipping in CRA 2 for recreationally caught crayfish. A broad review of section 111 provisions must be initiated. Joint recreational submission by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council-LegaSea and the New Zealand Angling & Casting Association. 13 December 2018.
