This Hauraki Gulf Tīkapa Moana Marine Protection Bill seeks to establish 19 marine protected areas in the Hauraki Gulf. The 19 MPAs include 2 marine reserves, 5 seafloor protection areas and 12 high protection areas. Government Bill introduced to Parliament on 22 August 2023. Submissions due by 1 November 2023.
