Tairua-Pauanui Sports Fishing Club

The Tairua Pauanui Sports Fishing Club is located within the tranquil harbour between the towns of Pauanui & Tairua. Spectacular fishing is at the doorstep with Shoe and Slipper Islands within a couple of short miles of the harbour entrance and provide fun safe fishing year round for both the family and the seasoned serious angler. The Aldermen Islands area is within 11 miles of the coast and provides challenging populations of fish species whilst the big game pelagics flow in and around this area from around late December. World class diving is available in countless spots nearby and spearfishing also has a reputable name out of Tairua.

Facilities and Amenities

The clubrooms sit on the top floor of the marina complex at 12 The Marina and offer the best views in town of the harbour. The club house is fully licensed and is open daily from 3:30PM. Ample car parking is available at the club and the Tairua Ferry is close at hand for those needing to get to and from Pauanui. There is plenty of space for boat trailer parking on the grounds surrounding the club.

Mooring for larger boats is available in the harbour or casual marina berth rentals are an option too.

Trailer boat launching facilities can be found at the ramp next to the club, as well as the main wharf in Tairua (off Tui Terrace) and at the jetty in Pauanui. Petrol and Diesel can be purchased in town at Tairua Gull in the main street and all the food and drink supplies you’ll need are simply across the road from the petrol station at the Tairua Four Square.

For larger vessels, there is also an on-water fuel up station located at the Tairua Marina which offers marine 95 fuel or diesel. Payment is via card only at a self service terminal.
