Mt Maunganui Sportfishing Club

The Mount Ocean Sports Club on Salisbury Wharf is the home of the Mt Maunganui Sports Fishing Club and is shared with the Mt Maunganui Yacht Club and Mt Maunganui Underwater Club.

Come fishing with us. We have numerous tournaments during the year – game fishing, trout fishing, ladies competitions, small fry & junior sections, surfcasting and many more.

Our largest tournament is the Blue Water Classic held in February of each year. Limited to 220 anglers with $50,000 in prizes it is a very exclusive tournament. The waiting list is currently 2 to 3 years.

The clubhouse is open every day from 11am. Bar prices are extremely competitive for members.

The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner and also takes bookings for private functions in the upstairs functions room.

The function room can cater for 120 people. It has seperate bar facilities & amenities as well as a very large verandah with fantastic views over the harbour. Bookings for the function room can be made by phoning 07 575 5388.

Disabled facilities are catered for and children are welcomed under parental supervision. There is a kids area with toys and colouring in activities.

There is a large screen for those all important sporting events with 3 smaller TV’s scattered around the club. For those that like to party a bit later there is a jukebox with regularly updated music.

Plenty of carparking is available and there is a direct taxi phone line in the foyer. Please do not drink and drive.
